Classes start January for the first Group of Participants

Through a grant (Immigrant Initiative)  given to CHASHAMA, by different city Council Members, I will be crafting different workshops that will be hosted by the organization or at Brooklyn Clay.  Most of the workshops use clay as the primary material

The classes are for undocumented immigrants and are primarily geared towards teaching Know Your Rights, focussing on immigrants rights and policy changes.

The workshop will focus on creating a vessel of the participants choice and learning the process from hand building with clay, choosing a design and following firing and glazing, until the object is ready for use. The class will help the participants find ways to relax and digest their lives, along with some  empowering sessions focussing on immigration law and rights of immigrants in this country and also any pressing information regarding rights, that need to be addressed by the group. These workshops will be principally for empowering women through knowledge of the law and also therapy of their soul.
