Present Cartographers is proud to present a new publication comprised of innovative texts and print-based artworks showcasing the spectrum of art produced in response to the ongoing immigration / emigration crisis, a global phenomenon with a huge local impact.
Terreno: Borderland Linguistics includes the work of Alice Leora Briggs, Julián Cardona, Tings Chak, Kemely Gomez, Israel F. Haros Lopez, Sheena Hoszko, Gelare Khoshgozaran, Osvaldo Ramirez Castillo, Carolina Rubio MacWright, and Tara Evonne Trudell.
Join us for a celebration involving readings/performances from Tara Evonne Trudell and Israel F. Haros Lopez, and special guest respondent, Alicia Inez Guzmán. Other Terreno artists and writers will be present.
Present Cartographers is made up of Daisy Quezada (New Mexico, US), Sylvia Arthur (London, UK) and Lois Klassen (Vancouver, CA). Terreno is a 24-page booklet that serves as a precursor to a larger work that will further explore artistic responses to migration. The designer of Terreno is Rufino Medrano.
Terreno is supported by 516 Arts / Fulcrum Fund (The Andy Warhol Foundation), SFAI, and Santa Fe University of Art and Design.
